Doki Doki Fat Stacks Club 💰

NicheGamer reports that Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! has sold over 500K copies!

This remastered version of Doki Doki Literature Club features new side stories, double the music tracks, 100+ unlockable images, and an HD upgrade for all of its existing artwork. But perhaps most importantly, the game is out on consoles for the first time, specifically the Switch, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X.

NicheGamer also posted a quote from Zhenghua Yang, co-founder of the game’s publisher:

“We’re beyond ecstatic about the success of Doki Doki Literature Club Plus. In addition to publishing on digital storefronts over the past few years, we’ve been targeting an expansion into physical distribution as we see a market opportunity in that realm. We’re very much still focused on digital as that’s where the majority of fans prefer to purchase their games, but the retail success of Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is a testament to our strategy entering the physical retail distribution space as well as a reflection of the love that fans have for this game. We’re truly grateful for Team Salvato trusting us with Monika and her friends, and humbled by the love the fans are showing for the new content.”

It’s not often you see a visual novel reach such amazing sales figures! I hope their success will help other games in the visual novel genre find a bigger audience as well.

Keep your pants on in AKIBA'S TRIP: Hellbound & Debriefed 🩲

AKIBA’S TRIP: Hellbound & Debriefed is an adventure game in which you run around a small neighborhood and literally rip the clothes off of people. But don’t worry, it’s all for a good cause!

You see, the town has been infested with Shadow Souls, a race of soul-sucking vampires that have been draining the good citizens of their motivation in order to turn them all into depressed shut-ins.

These vampires can survive in sunlight as long as they have their protective clothing on, which is where you come in. After a near-death incident with one of these vampires, your assailant’s sister gives you some of your blood. This heals you and gives you some Shadow Soul powers of your own.

Now you must use your powers to strip these vampires to their underwear while avoiding being stripped yourself!

Unfortunately, the game isn’t nearly as horny as its premise implies. There are no sex scenes in AKIBA’S TRIP and overall the game is more about hanging out with your friends than having sex with strangers. So what’s up with that M rating?

In any case, I had a lot of fun with its predecessor, Undead & Undressed, so I can’t wait to play this one!
