How I used an algorithm in Notion to prioritize my work
Over on the blog, I have written an article about how I use Notion to prioritize the work on my own lewd game.
Here’s a pull quote for ya:
I’ve written previously about how clearing my schedule allowed me to focus on doing deep work for four hours every day. But that raises an interesting question: how does one determine what the most important work actually is?
Check it out! 🤗

HuniePop 2 goes silver on the first day
HuniePop 2 was released last week to significant coverage from the adult gaming press. See XBIZ, NicheGamer, and LewdPixels.
And it seems that the general public has noticed too, with HuniePop 2 becoming the fastest-selling game ever for Huniepot Studios:
From personal experience, I can tell you that the game is indeed excellent. And it heartens me to see that there is room on the market for such a highly-polished adult experience!
Let’s hope that more such successes will follow. 🥰
Nutaku rolls out a SFW ad campaign
Nutaku.net is the largest online platform for adult games and they would like everyone to know about it! 🎉
To celebrate their six-year anniversary, they’ve rolled out a new and inclusive ad campaign. Featuring ads like Work Hard, Play Hard, Keeping Her Hands Busy, and Move Over, Soap Operas. You can see them all on nowintk.com.
I think Nutaku is a fantastic platform already but this push for more widespread recognition is a great one! 👍
Gaming’s fickle relationship with porn
Ana Valens has written an impressively researched piece for the Daily Dot about gaming’s relationship with porn. I wanted to highlight it up top because it covers so many important topics that are relevant to the adult gaming industry. Ms. Valens has a lot of things to say, including about the importance of queer indie games:
In 2013, when each of these games came out, titles like Grand Theft Auto V and BioShock Infinite dominated the mainstream gaming market. These gaming franchises have very little to say about real-world BDSM, sexual consent, women’s relationships with their bodies, or queer love. Twine developers challenged that norm.
And how difficult it is to get coverage for adult games:
But despite contacting around 30 games journalism sites, Ruffleneck says the media landscape “has been literally useless,” forcing them to instead rely on “various NSFW forums and communities” to promote the game, they told me.
Suffice to say that this newsletter is intended to change that, but it’s been an uphill battle for sure!
Tooting my own horn 📯
I received a wonderful comment from @MinoHotel about this very newsletter:
The Economist for adult games! Imagine that! 😊
Writing Wrap-Up 📖
BlerdyOtome interviewed Perfect Garbage Studios, makers of the highly anticipated visual novel Love Shore:
Emmett: Son initially approached me with a very loose concept about cyborgs who could see god. They had wanted to make a game, and knew that they wanted to work with me, knowing I was also a writer who was interested in Sci-Fi.
Hard Drive fires a shot across the bow with this callout post of the Hades fandom:
A new study released by researchers at St. Joseph’s College has revealed that Hades players who are horny for all of the indie game’s various Gods may just be “regular horny.”
LewdPixels wrote about the death of free-roam adult games:
When you decide to deliver a free-roam game, it far too often requires so much work to build the world that you have envisioned, that by the time it comes to deliver an update, there is little content of substance, with lackluster story progression, which will time and time again disappoint the public.
This week’s Combat Report is all about writing style and a bit of UI design:
Instead of using paragraphs of descriptive text, everything in Steel Hearts will be conveyed through dialogue (plus inner monologue), images, animation, and sound. In our eyes, prose draws the reader away from the “visual” aspect of the visual novel, de-immersing them.
Mozilla warns us to think twice when purchasing an internet-connected sex toy:
Mozilla's new Valentine's Day-themed guide looks at various sex tech companies' product features, privacy policies, security components, and relationships with artificial intelligence, according to a press release obtained by the Daily Dot.
Tame It! is a fun little adult adventure game that recently added difficulty selection:
Difficulty selector was added into the settings menu and foraging/hunting skills were rebalanced. Now you may choose yourself to make the game easier or harder. Please share your thoughts about the new balance!
Twitter is taking aim at OnlyFans and is considering adding tips to tweets:
Possibilities include a "tipping system" in which you'd pay people you follow for exclusive content, a charge to use dashboard app Tweetdeck or extra features like "undo send" and profile customization for users.
Terraria’s developer Re-Logic canceled their Google Stadia port of Terraria after their founder was locked out of his Google account for over three weeks:
Andrew Spinks took to Twitter to express how his account had been disabled for over three weeks; losing access to Google Play, Google Drive, his YouTube channel, and his Gmail account. After three weeks of attempting to resolve the issue to no success, Spinks announced Terraria was cancelled on Google Stadia due to poor customer service.
XBIZ reports that Larry Flynt, famously the publisher of Hustler magazine, has passed away at age 78:
What had begun as a two-page, black-and-white Hustler Club promotional publication in January 1972, growing to 16 pages, then 32 pages, now expanded exponentially, even as Flynt drew ire from distributors for explicit content like “pink-shot” pics of exposed vulvas.
Cheeky chuckle 🤭
